I started writing fanfic in May 2005. My first fandom was That 70s Show. I finished two stories that month and then started a third in November 2005 for my first attempt at NaNoWriMo. It was a sequel to the second fic I wrote. It’s yet to be finished. But while working on that an idea sparked and I wrote the first half of another That 70s Show story in January 2007. I was unable to finish that one either and writing kind of fell to the side when I discovered digital scrapbooking.
In 2008 I got hooked on Firefly and wrote a few drabbles for that and for NaNo that year I wrote an Angel fanfic that I haven’t figured out how to finish. Again writing (fanfic or otherwise) fell to the back burner as I dealt with life in general.
It wasn’t until 2010 that I started really writing again. I began watching Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis in 2009 and was instantly hooked by the fandom. I knew I had found my home. I started a little fic in October 2010 while I was prepping for NaNo but never finished it (until almost a year later). While working on my epic SG-1 novel for NaNo I wrote a little drabble which was supposed to be a snippet of a larger story that I have yet to write. Then on Christmas Eve I got an idea for a little Christmas story and stayed up all night writing it so that it would be published on Christmas. It’s still one of my favorites I’ve written.
Early the next year I found the wonderful Stargate community at LiveJournal and the rest is history. I’ve written 50 SG-1 stories so far in 2011 (with three months of the year left to go).
