Stargate SG-1 fic: Doing it Wrong

I started this story almost a year ago. It was my first foray into SG-1 fic. It was just a little story that popped into my head while I was planning out my NaNo project. I decided to just finish it up and post it in my endeavor to finish one “in progress” fic a month.

WARNINGS: kid!fic

Jack’s on a mission and he’s, “doing it wrong,” so says his little side kick. Just a little snippet into Jack’s retirement.

Jack stared intensely at the offending distraction on the table. A room away he could barely make out the sounds of the hockey game he was trying unsuccessfully to watch. With a sigh he picked up one of the objects laid out before him turning it in his hands. Front, back, sides? This shouldn’t be so complicated, he thought; it’s not rocket science, and despite outward appearances, Jack wasn’t an idiot. Read more…

Cam gets stuck with babysitting Vala on a mission. He should know nothing good will come of that.

“Vala, what the hell are you doing?” Cam demanded in a hushed voice. He tried to grab her arm but she jerked it away.

“It’s got to be here somewhere,” she mumbled, moving along the wall.

“What?” She didn’t answer, just stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth in concentration. Cam frowned. “Vala-”

There was a loud click followed by a hiss. Then the wall started moving. Vala jumped back with a proud look on her face. “See.” Read more…

Stargate SG-1 fic: Close Call

This one is actually more drabble lengthed than the others.

Another mission, another close call. Nothing ever changes for SG-1.

The ground pitched beneath their feet sending Vala careening into Daniel. They both tumbled to the ground in a flailing ball of arms and legs.

“What was that?” Vala said, her voice pitched higher than normal.

Daniel rubbed at the back of his head, feeling the slick of blood already caking his hair. “I don’t know. Earthquake?”

Vala pushed up onto her hands to look down at him. “No one said anything about earthquakes?” Read more…

Stargate SG-1 fic: Howling at the Moon

Okay, so another story for the [info]fictionland drabbles. The longest of them because I just liked the story so much. 100 words (or even 500) couldn’t do it justice.

The moon has a direct effect on natural forces, like the tide, but it’s also said that it exerts a force over humans as well. On a mission, Jack finds out exactly how true that is, and he hopes Sam will never remember it.

“You should not be out on this night.”

Jack looked around for the hidden voice, finding a small man wedged in the shadows of two buildings. “Oh really?”

“Why not?” Daniel asked, concern raising his voice slightly.

“Did they not tell you? All who travel here know.” Read more…
