This is probably going to be a short and sweet post. My mama cat is about to drive me insane. She’s having serious anxiety attacks because I won’t let her take her two-week-old kittens into the dark and dangerous garage. I’ve spent half the night trying to calm her down, and the other half putting kittens back in their basket where they’re safe.
So, without further ado…
Day 16: illusive
Today’s story takes place nearly right after season 4, episode 8 ends. With a little tweaking. Jasper’s finally convinced Bellamy to relax. Just for a bit. A couple cups of jobi nut tea has him looser than he’s ever been.
It actually feels kind of nice to not care for once. To not have the weight of the entire human race crushing him. Bree even gets him to dance. Well, mostly he just stands there while she wiggles around. It reminds him that he used to have a life before all of this. He had friends and a girlfriend, and they’d hang out at parties. Like this.
The jobi nuts must be kicking in because Bellamy’s having a hard time focusing. Bree keeps changing her hair color. And her eyes. For a second he’s sure he’s dancing with his high school girlfriend. He blinks and Gina’s there which nearly knocks him over.
Things get kind of confusing after that. Especially when Bree starts looking like Clarke. He’s definitely hit his limit–time to get some sleep. Bree has other ideas, though, and Bellamy’s not exactly against them. At least his body is agreeing with her. He tries not to think about anything with Bree’s tongue down his throat, but sometimes it’s not Bree he’s with. Sometimes he’s not even on the Ark. Sometimes he thinks he’s losing his mind.
Yeah, I didn’t get very far with this story before my wrist started hurting. I got my 1,000 words, though. And I swear, Clarke is in this story. And not just as a figment of his imagination.
Bonus (extra long to make up for the crappy recap):
Bellamy turns back to Bree. She smiles up at him, eyes slightly unfocused. The music switches up to something much slower. Bree sways her hips to the beat. Bellamy doesn’t even need to move–Bree does all of the work.
“I haven’t seen you around much,” she says.
Bellamy shrugs. “It’s been kind of crazy.”
“Really? I hadn’t noticed.”
They both laugh. “How have you been, Bree?”
She leans back to get a better look at his face, tossing her hair back. “Oh, you know, torture and loss of free will. The usual. You?”
He can’t really tell if she’s joking or not. There’s a touch of bitterness in her voice. He gives her an easy smile. “About the same, just sprinkle with some murder and loss of hope in humanity.”
She blinks at him a few seconds then busts out laughing. “God, our lives suck.”
Bellamy relaxes some and starts to move to the music, turning them slowly. He doesn’t even realize he’s pulling Bree closer until she nuzzles against his neck.
