June Goals

goals

Recap from May:

Reading: Only read one of four books, but… I caught up on all but Unsounded and I only have two and a half chapters left of that to read. So I guess that’s sort of fifty/fifty? C
Writing: Um, yeah… totally bombed this. I decided after the month started that I wouldn’t be doing new sentences for Uncalled For Actions. I would just finish the ones from April and catch up on typing. But I did neither of those things. In fact, I didn’t write anything all month. Ugh. D– (because I kept my streak with my journal… barely)
Finishing/Editing: Hey, I did this. Sort of. I edited two stories other than Uncalled For. Well, I did a pass of editing on two different stories. The editing wasn’t completed. BUT that still counts. I didn’t get much of Uncalled For typed up, though. C
Posting: Yep, totally failed this one. And I reminded myself with a week to go that I needed to edit and post some stuff. Then forgot. Figures. F

I decided at the beginning of May that the month would be a loss for writing. With my grandson coming soon, I wanted to get some projects finished that I put off in April because of Camp NaNo. But I slacked off way more than I’d intended with not even trying to get my sentences typed up. I’ll try harder this month, I guess. F

June Goals:

Reading:

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • catch up on the days I still have missing from April for Uncalled For Actions

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit a story other than Uncalled For
  • edit/finish two chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait (I really need to work on this again)
  • type up and edit as much of Uncalled For as my hands will allow

Posting:

  • post the chapters of Uncalled For that I get done
  • post one other story
(Pretty much just keeping the same goals with a few little tweaks. This baby should be here any day so who knows what June will be like.)

May Goals

Recap from April:

Reading: Well, I read one book. 50% is a fail, huh?. F
Writing: I still haven’t missed a day of my journal and my streak is still going strong, but I didn’t manage to catch up on Uncalled For Actions. I came really close, though. B-
Finishing/Editing: I completely forgot I was supposed to look at something other than my NaNo project. Oops. I edited some of the stuff I wrote, but thanks to a pinched nerve in my hand, typing everything up to post has been slow going. C
Posting: I didn’t quite do this because of the above mentioned pinched nerve. I can only type so much with my fingers constantly going numb so I’m behind on my editing/posting of what I did write. C

A lot of my issues this past month were health related. Between the numb hands and chronic fatigue, I’ve had to make a lot of changes in how I work and learn to live with having a lot less energy than I used to. It’s been a learning experience. D

May Goals:

Reading:

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • catch up on the days I still have missing from April for Uncalled For Actions
  • write all of my sentences in May for Uncalled For Actions

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit a story other than Uncalled For
  • type up and edit as much of Uncalled For as my hands will allow

Posting:

  • post the chapters of Uncalled For that I get done
  • post one other story

April Goals

Recap from March:

Reading: Got three! books done not counting the online comics I read. B
Writing: Well, I did my journal and tried to catch up on Uncalled For Actions. I didn’t really come close but managed to get a few days finished. C-
Finishing/Editing: I guess this one is 50/50 or sort of a win because I edited and posted a story, but didn’t finish any others unless you count two chapters of Uncalled For. You know what, I think that does count so… A
Posting: This one I nailed with two chapters of Uncalled For and an entire fanfic! WTG me. A

This month was crap for my official wordcount, but I hit a lot of my goals so that makes me happy. It’s been my best month for that in a long time. B-

April Goals:

Reading:

  • read 2 books

Writing:

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit a story other than Uncalled For
  • finish and edit Uncalled For as I get them done

Posting:

  • post the chapters of Uncalled For that I get done

March Goals

Recap from February:

Reading: Well, I did finally finish the book, but since I did it on the last day of the month, I haven’t gotten around to starting a new one. C
Writing: Did my journal every day but got horribly behind in my sentences then gave up half way through the month thanks to my mood/energy issues. D
Finishing/Editing: I didn’t even manage to finish the chapters of Uncalled For Actions I should have because I’m so far behind. Didn’t work on anything else. F
Posting: I guess I posted a chapter of Uncalled For so that counts. Right? A

Horrible month for everything. The chronic fatigue and depression are slowly killing me. I’ve gotten nothing done, and honestly, don’t care that much most of the time. D+

March Goals:

Reading:

  • read 4 books

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • write my sentences needed for each day
  • catch up on Uncalled For Actions

Finishing/Editing:

  • finish at least one story (editing optional)
  • edit at least one story (posting optional)

Posting:

  • post a story or chapter

February Goals

Recap from January:

Reading: Read only one book and started a second one. It’s not going well. D-
Writing: Did good on this, but I’m not sure I could have set the bar any lower, lol. Wrote every day in my journal and wrote more than one sentence per day so A++
Finishing/Editing: No Chapters of Heaven have been worked on, but I did write (not edit) one of the “kiss” stories, and that’s technically a chapter of another story so it counts. C
Posting: Posted one story but also the sentences I wrote every day. A

Not bad, I guess. Because I did give myself realistic goals for my mood and energy levels, I was able to complete most of them. I guess I’ll give myself a C+

February Goals:

Reading:

  • finish the book I’m reading
  • start another book

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • write my sentences needed for each day

Finishing/Editing:

  • finish at least one story (editing optional)
  • edit at least one story (posting optional)

Posting:

  • post a story or chapter

January Goals

Recap from December:

Reading: Read one book and gave up on my Goodreads challenge for the year. Oh well. F
Writing: Wrote in my journal to keep my streak but did nothing else. I guess that’s a 50% which is still failing. F
Finishing/Editing: Did absolutely nothing. F
Posting: Posted nothing. F

December doesn’t exist. It was a figment of my imagination. F—-

January Goals:

Reading:

  • read four books for the 2019 Goodreads Challenge

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • write at least one sentence every day (yes, just one sentence)

Finishing/Editing:

  • work on one of the numerous Girl Genius fics that are started
  • work on finishing and/or editing four chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait

Posting:

  • post a story or chapter

December Goals

Recap from November:

Reading: I think I got to the end of Girl Genius again. I kind of lost track with the number of times I’ve read the comic this year. I didn’t read anything else. C
Writing: Well, my journal is still going so ++ for that, but I only wrote a few chapters of Heaven and only wrote twelve days during the month. Pretty much a complete failure, but I guess the journal thing pulls the grade up. D
Finishing/Editing: I managed to finish editing Chapter 37 of Heaven and that was it for my goals. I pretty much gave up after that. F
Posting: Posted one freaking chapter. ONE! What a month. F

November was even worse than October for the fact that I posted almost nothing and barely wrote. I did finish rough drafts of several chapters of Heaven, but they’re patchy at best with whole scenes missing between them. I doubt December is much better. D-

December Goals:

Reading:

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • at least something words every day

Finishing/Editing:

  • finish two WIPs
  • edit something

Posting:

  • post a story (any story–I’m not picky)

November Goals

Recap from October:

Reading: Hahahahahahahah. F
Writing: Did my journal (of course). Wrote two of the Girl Genius stories but didn’t edit or post them. And did absolutely nothing else on the list. D-
Finishing/Editing: So, finished editing Attention to Detail (YAY!). Edited chapters 35 & 36 of Heaven and started 37 but have been distracted by Halloween stuff (Boo!). Only edited 3 of the Girl Genius stories (eh). And I think I finished like one of the stories from last month. C
Posting: Got three of the four chapters for Heaven Can’t Wait. BOTH of the chapters for Attention to Detail and four stories. A-

October was a horrible month for writing (for various reasons). But I survived. Onto November and NaNoWriMo. C

November Goals:

Reading:

  • read four books (fingers crossed)
  • finish reading the Girl Genius again

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • at least 1667 words every day
  • write chapters 38 & 39 and 42-70 of Heaven Can’t Wait

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit chapters 37-42 of Heaven Can’t Wait

Posting:

  • Post four chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait

October Goals

Recap from Septemberr:

Reading: Nothing. Sad face. F
Writing: For the most part it was a good writing month. Just not for hitting my actual goals (I should probably start writing these down for myself). I did my journal every day so that’s good, but I missed the 100 words every day. There were 11 days under 100–seven of those were 0s. Better than last month, though. As for the Girl Genius stories… I did a few but not all of them. C
Finishing/Editing: I only edited one of the Girl Genius stories. I did edit chapters 32-35 of Heaven Can’t Wait. In fact, I edited all the way through chapter 37 and started to write 38. I didn’t work on Attention to Detail at all. C-
Posting: I only got two chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait up and zero of Attention to Detail. That’s pretty bad. But I posted six other stories. C

September definitely went better than August, especially at the end. Things really improved once I decided to redo the fanfic50 stores (written for Camp NaNo in April 2017) since I didn’t think I would get around to finishing the originals. Right off, I got through two of them and started a third. C-

October Goals:

Reading:

  • read four books (fingers crossed)

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • at least 100 words every day
  • write four stories for Girl Genius week on tumblr (October 8-13)
  • write three “kiss” stories
  • write chapters 38 & 39 of Heaven Can’t Wait

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit the stories for Girl Genius week
  • edit chapters 35-37 of Heaven Can’t Wait
  • edit chapters 5 & 6 of Attention to Detail
  • finish the stories I started last month

Posting:

  • Post four chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait
  • Post two chapters of Attention to Detail
  • Post two other stories

September Goals

Recap from August:

Reading: Fourteen books out of zero pledged! W00t! A++
Writing: Other than keeping my streak, August was a complete failure. I missed more days than I wrote and a lot of those weren’t even 100 words. I didn’t even work on Heaven Can’t Wait–I’m still stuck editing chapter 32. I’m hoping with the kids going back to school (eventually if this strike ends), I’ll have more time to concentrate. F
Finishing/Editing: I think I hit somewhere in the middle of this goal. I didn’t do any editing on Heaven which is a failure, but I got two chapters of Attention to Detail done and finished and/or edited six stories. So, a solid C, I guess.
Posting: Not good. No chapters of Heaven, only two of four for Attention, and technically only two other stories in August. I saved the third I edited to post today. D

August was as bad as July. This depression is killing my creativity, but I’ve been away from many of the stories long enough that they’ve been easier to edit. I’m hoping for a better September. C-

September Goals:

Reading:

  • read four books (keeping it simple even though I’m 16 books behind schedule)

Writing:

  • write every day in my writing journal/keep my streak going
  • at least 100 words every day
  • write six stories for Girl Genius week on tumblr (October 8-13)

Finishing/Editing:

  • edit the stories for Girl Genius week
  • edit chapters 32-35 of Heaven Can’t Wait
  • edit chapters 5 & 6 of Attention to Detail

Posting:

  • Post four chapters of Heaven Can’t Wait
  • Post two chapters of Attention to Detail
  • Post two other stories
